DVD Flick

DVD Flick is a free DVD authoring tool that is pretty good considered the fact that you don’t have to spend a single dime for it. It facilitates compilation of photographs, pictures and digital video clips of various formats into standard DVD format suitable for burning.

The graphical user interface of the software left much to be desired though compare to other high end commercial DVD authoring tool but hey, apart from it, there are plenty of options to wet your appetite though.  I still couldn’t figure out the  ‘new project’ setting. Nothing happens when you click on the ‘new project setting’ option.  You need to configure the project settings and the menu settings.

Anyway, like most other free open source software utilities, it may take you quite awhile to get used and to be able to fully maximize all the features built into this piece of software. The user manual and documentation is kind of pretty lousy though, but I guess there’s nothing much to complain about when it’s a free program. You will get the hand of it once you spend some time to experiment with the various features and options.

One interesting aspect of DVD Flick is that you could configure it to automatically launch another piece of free utility, namely ‘ImgBurn program to initiate the DVD burning once the authoring process is completed. All in all DVD Flick is cool piece of software.
