Browsing and reading news or magazines on smart phone has never been easier. It is  no longer uncomfortable nor cumbersome to access online magazines and news on the move as it used to be to , thanks to mobile apps such as Flipboard ,Google Currents and many more, most of which do not require subscription fee.[pinit]

Mobile screen limited viewing area  has always been a constraint factor if you compare it to the generous size of most desktop huge flat panel monitor display. Google Current is pretty well designed extremely easy to use and user friendly.  I was really surprised at the ease of navigation, uncluttered, crisp and well design layout app on my Galaxy S2 device.

Configuration & Setting

The GUI (graphical user interface)  layout is very simplistic, well organized and comfortable to the eyes.  The content  is tiled up neatly into two major topics, namely the library and trending of stories. The configuration and setting menu  is very basic, in fact there is not much for you need to meddle with.

There are several categories you can choose to add to the library. The items includes featured topics, recommended news, business, design, entertainment, lifestyle, science&tech, sports and curators to name a few. There is a plus(+) icon that you can tap to add custom content to the library or trending stories.

Customer user experience is critical for user acceptance of reading news and magazines on tiny screen and in that regards Google Currents seems to score quite well . The app is well crafted, there is no need to pan or zoom to move from one page to the next or to scroll down to access articles.

Sharing of article, blog, news and photo is a breeze, all made possible with the social media platform integration such as Google+ and Facebook. One particular feature that I really like is what is called the ‘Trending”.

The trending  feature allows you to customize and personalize the tracking of  stories such as content in regards to business, entertainment, sports, health, science and many others in a timeline manner. Google  utilize its powerful search technology to track  changes in trends in hourly basis.

Lets say for instance you need to keep abreast with financial stock market and business  related news while on the move. You can easily follow up with latest events associated with it via this magazine-style looking app.
Google Currents News Reader Android Mobile Application

Go Green – Digital Magazine & News
Google Currents has huge potential to replace print magazine.  It is a free service and unlike RSS feed which is heavy in text, content display with this aggregate news reader app  is definitely much more visually exciting, comprising a mix of image, photos, video and text in rich web content environment.

Flexible Display Style
The content is displayed in a magazine-style layout, visually appealing, elegant and support both portrait or landscape format.  Just swipe the touch screen to navigate between pages, what more simpler than that?

Native Offline Content
Offline reading is another sweet spot this interesting software has to offer.  You can sync up with other Android mobile devices which has the application installed to .

You can configure the application to download content of your interest to the device for offline viewing whenever there is Internet connection such as WiFi or 3G or 4G  network access. This cool feature  is a handy way to catch up with your interest while on the go.

Did you know that you can push your site into Currents? Check out more information about it over here.

Google Currents is a good addition to other newsreader apps you may already have installed and used in your mobile or tablet. It is a free service and even though there there are many areas where other similar applications such as Flipboard surpassed and excel, the simplicity and zero learning curve of this application software is great plus.
