A lot of people equates SEO (Search Engine Optimization) with keyword research. Keyword research is an important aspect of online business which you cannot overlook. The title of your content should include keywords that are not too generic (too broad base ) as well as not too specific. For instance, an article with the title ‘ Dog Ramp’ is not as targeted as ‘Dog Ramp For Old Pomeranian’. The number of competing sites with with search pharse ‘Dog Ramp’ is a lot more compare to the latter which has the qualifier ‘Old Pomeranian’. The latter search phrase is also known as long tail keywords.
Long tail keywords helps you to attract more targeted traffic to your website. In that sense, it helps you to build a prospect list that is more responsive to your products and services. Comparatively speaking, a small customer list of say 10 buyers is more important than a huge untargeted customer base of say 100 people who are just looking for freebies.
