Customers are spoil for choices when it comes to smart phones. Okay, I am not a smart mobile phone geek so to speak. Even as of now, I am still using the Motorola RAZR V3 mobile phone. Comparatively speaking, this model is almost extinct so to speak.
Nevertheless, it has serves me well. The battery is kind of cranky due to prolong usage across the years. I suppose it won’t be easy to find the equivalent battery replacement for this model if I am lucky. I doubt any phone accessory shops in Singapore would have such old mobile phone model batteries in their inventories.
Come to think of it why would I need a smart phone with all those features such as high resolution camera (from 5M pixel and above), large memory, wifi connectivity, Facebook and Twitter friendly and ready out of the box, camcorder and host of other features?
Surfing the net and access Facebook with smart phone? Trying to do so within the 4inch screen wouldn’t just cut, at least for me since I have to strain my eyes. I would rather do so with a net-book that has at least 10-inch display.
I would also rather bring along my old IPOD with 30G hard disk if I were traveling and wish to listen to music. At least I don’t need to worry about my mobile phone battery going flat due to wifi access and music playback.
I use mobile phone for talking and sending or receiving SMS and that’s pretty much to it. Well, perhaps the high resolution camera in new smart phones might comes in handy if you wish to take candid camera shots but you might land yourself in trouble if you take photos of people without their consents.
Last but not least, I don’t have to feel the pain if I lose my mobile phone. Not so if you lose that IPHONE 3GS or IPHONE 4, Samsung Galaxy or any other brand new smart phones. When you lose any of these smart mobile phones, you lose a lot more than just a phone. You lose all the data and information that stored in it over the days, weeks, months and even years.
That does not imply I am sticking to dinosaur age mobile phone though. It’s too bad I just renew my mobile phone contract for another 2 years with Sing-tel. I would have to pay the penalty of at least 450 Sing dollars if I cancel the subscription plan well ahead of the 2 years contract term. I guess I will just hang on to the current plan until it expires in another 1-year time.
I have to admit that I think it’s cool to own the latest smart phone gadget in town. There are thousands of free applications that you can download for Apple IPHONE. The same goes for Google Android Powered smart phones.
More and more online business transactions can be done via mobile. End users and customers are getting more comfortable with the security features associated with mobile online transactions.
Stock and Forex traders would find the mobile wifi and 3G Internet access most welcoming. You can monitor stock movements, trends and etc online real time conveniently even where you are the go.
Till then it would be interesting to see the shootout contest between Apple’s IPHONE 4 versus Samsung Galaxy and other competitor models such as those from HTC and etc. It is interesting to note that Nokia seems to be lagging way far behind with regards to introducing new smart phones.
I must admit I am really impressed and excited about Apple’s new smart phone. I would give it a run for its money though. Cheers.
