One of the biggest challenges that Internet marketers and webmasters faced is how to promote their sites such that it will attract customers to their site. Hundreds, if not thousands of new websites are created daily and it is not an easy job to get your site notice by people much less buying from you.

Forget what those Internet Marketing Guru’s who would have want you to believe that you can get your site rank at the top of the search engine page in a week or even a day or so provided that you buy their magic product or service.

There are many ways to market and promote your website. Some of these methods are very efficient and effective but require some amount of money to advertise your product or service. PPC using Goggle AdWords is one typical method where by you can get your website rank very quickly at the top if you use write combination of keywords in your PPC campaigns.

Many other advertising methods such as CPA marketing, social media web 2.0 using facebook, Squidoo, Hub Page, Twitter and many more serves to offer wider opportunities for the little guys like you and me to compete with giant advertisers.

Video marketing is getting more and more popular and many are jumping into this bandwagon in the hope that it will give them an edge over competitors. You can use all the latest advertisement and promotion techniques but it won’t do you any good if you are not using it properly or doing it with the wrong intention in mind.

Behind all these new Internet Marketing technologies lies the fundamental principle that advertisement should be foremost gear towards offering the best solution and value for money to address people’s wants and needs.

One of the earliest methods to promote website is through what is called banner advertisements. Many people reported that banner advertisement is no longer as effective as it used to be.

Some research into behavioral marketing indicates people generally can tell banner advertisement miles away so to speak and will avoid all means from clicking or taking banner advertisement seriously.

Does that imply you should forget about banner advertisement? On the same reason does that imply you should do away another form of old marketing technique involve article marketing and article submission?

Banner Ads can be very effective if you do it correctly. Many people simply slap some banners on their sites and assume that there is all to it in getting people to notice it and hopefully buy whatever that is advertise in the banner.

What Banner Ads Can Do For You

Banner ads can help bring visitors from others sites to your own. Although monthly fees can be expensive to advertise on high traffic sites, in the end it may be cheaper and/or a faster way to start seeing significant revenue from your website efforts, rather than waiting for SEO techniques to bring your own site to the top of search engine results. Aside from paying to advertise on someone else’s site, there are also free banner exchanges to choose from. We will look at the pros and cons of each banner advertising method below.

Free Banner Exchanges

Free banner exchanges are when you and other sites exchange each others banners. Their banner will go on your site and your banner will go one their site. Although this option is free, there are two main problems with it. First, if you want your banner on a significant number of sites, it will mean cluttering your own site up with these banners. This could even shot you in the foot if you run an affiliate website because, instead of clicking on your affiliate links, your visitors may be clicking on your banner exchange links. Secondly, you have to be really careful about the types of sites that you exchange banners with. Some sites like to gather a lot of banners so that they can be a directory or portal site and not have to have any real content. These “banner farms” or “link farms” will do nothing positive for your site and, in the meantime, you will be bringing them potential traffic.

Paid Banner Ads

As we saw above, paid banner ads cost money, but they will eventually pay off if you choose the right ones. You need to ensure that the site produces the amount of traffic that they say and that they have your ad placed in a way that invites visitors to click without being too pushy. You also want to choose a site that does not house too many other banners on the same page as yours or that there are no competitor links on the same page.

All in all, banner ads can end up being profitable for you site if you go about it the right way. If you do decide to check out banner advertisement as a marketing avenue, be sure to keep the above tips in mind.

How Much Can You Earn With Google AdSense

Goggle does not publicly disclose how much top publishers earn from Goggle AdSense. Neither could anyone verify those who boast of earning 4 or 5 figure income just purely based on focusing on AdSense. It is not surprising that the gap between top 2% AdSense earners and the rest could be quite huge.

Is it possible to live a comfortable lifestyle by relying solely on just AdSense? What is the secret to earning four or figure income via AdSense? Is those Internet Marketing Guru’s exaggerating and bragging when they claimed they earn big paycheck just simply by using AdSense?

Isn’t there any information that bares no hold bar to disclose exactly how to be really successful with Goggle AdSense? One of the most authoritative people who qualify to talk about Goggle AdSense is Joel Comm. He is the author of the Amazon best seller ‘The AdSense Code’.

I bought a copy of the AdSense Code the day the revised soft copy of the product was launched. That was quite some time way back. As a matter of fact, the AdSense Code was revised couple of times and new chapters added, much to the benefit for those who order the latest revision of the book.

Truth to be told, there is no such thing as a smoking gun as far as Goggle AdSense is concern. If you are wondering if Goggle AdSense can make you rich overnight or bring you four or five figure income easily without any efforts than I must say you will be disappointed.

On the average, most people get to earn a few dollars daily with AdSense. Experience Internet Marketers or online business marketers may be able to make a couple of hundreds of dollars daily with it.

How much you get paid for the clicks on the sponsored ads depends on how much advertisers are willing to bid and pay for the keywords pertaining to the ads published on your website.

If you follow and implement the necessary blue print as outline in the AdSense Code and take action, you can expect to realistically and comfortably earn one or two thousand dollars per month with AdSense.

It is possible to earn four or five figure sum if you take massive actions to drive targeted traffics to your websites. You need to make sure the websites or blogs contains good quality contents.

It is not surprising that some of the more successful AdSense publishers make use of PPC method such as Goggle AdWords to drive targeted traffic to their AdSense ready sites. You need to do the math to make sure that the amount of money spend on Goggle AdWords do not exceed the profit generated from AdSense.

Strategies to improve your AdSense CTR (Click Through Rate)

Your success with Goggle AdSense depends primarily on 1) quality content, 2) volume of targeted traffic and 3) the number of websites or blogs. In some sense AdSense is a number’s game. The more websites and blogs you have with Goggle sponsored ads, the higher chances that people will click on the AdSense links.

You need to provide quality contents, information that address problems or which draws the attention of the reader. Always ask yourself as to why a reader should click on the AdSense Goggle advertisement posted on your websites or blogs.

The answer is simple, you need publish articles and contents which has perceived value and the content must be presented in such a way so as to arouse the curiosity and interest of the reader to want to know more about the topic in discussion.

Most people are adverse to online advertisements and could smell or sense it from a mile away so speak. Advertisement banners are no longer effective as it used to be. Have it ever occur to you that people tend to switch to another television channel to skip advertisements? The same goes for online ads. Most people are immune to ads subconsciously.

Try to blend in Goggle sponsored ads in your webpage in between the article posting by setting the border color of the ads to be the same as that of the background color of webpage. Adjust the font and size of the ads so that it blends in with the article.

Embed your articles and contents with relevant keywords and position the Goggle sponsored AdSense ads above the fold so that user don’t have to scroll down or hit the page down button to view the ads.

Google AdSense – In A Nutshell

There are many ways to monetize your blog. One of the easiest and fastest way albeit not the most lucrative way to earn money through blogging is by implementing Google Adsense. What is AdSense?

In a nutshell AdSense is an interesting advertising concept that was initiated by Google many years ago. No doubt there are many new online business advertising models or strategies being conceptualize and implemented as of late. AdSense continues to be a a favourite advertising method and one of the easiest way in terms of blog monetization.

AdSense is one of Google’s main advertising program. It presents monetization opportunity to the website owners by allowing Google to post either text or image advertisements on their websites. The advertisement placed on the website is context sensitive in the sense that the advertistment is selected based on the topics and contents of the webpage or blog displaying it. Google has indicated plans to enhance AdSense by targeting ads based on the user surfing behavior. This is term behavioral advertising.

The entry requirement for Website owners to participate in AdSense is pretty straightforward and easy. Website owners need to enroll to the AdSense program through Google’s AdSense website. Google AdSense program requires you (the website owner & who is also designated the publisher) to include a piece of code (usually a programming script) on your website.

You have the full flexibility to include the AdSense code anywhere in the html code of your website i.e. depending on where you want to position the advertisements (however, there are certain rules that you must strictly follow while pasting this scripting code in other to conform to Google AdSense terms and conditions!).

The piece of AdSense code generated determines the structure of advertisements and content (and this is what helps Google in floating the advertisements on your website). You can choose different setting of advertisement and types such as banner, buttons, square, mixture of text and images and etc.

When people visit your website they are able to see these advertisements. Your earnings are based on how many Google Ads are displayed on your website and also based on how many times visitors to your website actually click on one of those Ads. The Google AdSense system calculates your revenue on per-click (CPC) and per-thousand-Ads-displayed (CPM) basis. The latter is also known as impressions.

For people who want to advertise their products and services through the Google AdSense system, it’s just a matter of signing up through Google Adwords program and letting Google know how much they want to spend towards advertising through Google AdSense. I was extremely confused and could not really differentiate between Google Adwords and Google AdSense when I first started online business.

Well, in a nutshell Google Adwords is targeted at advertisers who wish to have their ads placed on websites, blogs and search engine results listings while Google AdSense is targeted at publishers (web site owners and blog owners) who allows Google to place advertisement on their sites. As advertisers you need to bid for keywords and pay Google while as publishers you get paid when someone click on the Ads.

These businesses can specify the limit and Google AdSense system will accordingly serve their Ads so as to ensure that the specified limit is not crossed. Google AdSense increases the visibility of their business/ services and also increases traffic going to their website; hence fulfilling their purpose of advertising.
